Technic (Japanese: テクニック; Tekunikku) is a energy drink brewed by Technic Drinks, Inc., an El Kadsre-based beverage manufacturer. Launched in 1973, it has the first market share to any energy drink in the world with Red Bull being the second. Its marketing has often included characters from the popular franchise Technic Heroes, an El Kadsreian kadsresatsu series created by El TV Kadsre in 1976, with Technic often doing cross-promotions whenever a Technic Heroes film installment is showing in cinemas.

In 2016, Technic was declared El Kadsre's national beverage.

History[]

Technic, which was deemed to be the first modern energy drink, was invented by doctor and pharmacist Sukeyuki Osaki in 1971. Technic was introduced in 1973 in the Vlokozu Union, with Osaki marketing Technic towards labourers, professionals and students as a means to increase their productivity and advance their active lifestyle. In 1974, a year after Technic's introduction, Osaki formed a partnership with Panchi inventor Ai Uehara, and the two merged Panchi Co. and Osaki Health Products to form Technic Drinks Inc. Later that same year, Technic expanded to international markets after seeing the success of Pepsi, Schweppes, Technic, Panchi, .35 Whelen, 7-UP, Mountain Dew and Lipton in the Vlokozu Union. Early on, Technic was marketed through sports events such as the Vlokozuian football leagues, which increased its popularity.

In 1976, Technic and El TV Kadsre launched the long-running tokusatsu franchise, known as Technic Heroes. In the same year, the drink was introduced to Helvmark, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand and Japan and was introduced to the United States, West Germany (now Germany), Belgium, Philippines, Canada, Barokia, Thailand, India, and Switzerland in 1980 and was introduced to Jetania and Kuboia in 1989. Also in 1980, the brand began using the slogan of "The World's Strongest Sports Drink", which was later modified to "The World's Strongest Energy Drink" to match the rise of energy drinks in the market.

In 1976, Technic won the New Beverage award from the Association Internationale des Boissons Non-Alcoolisées, and would later win their Sports Drink of the Year award in 1980.

In 1999, to coincide with the launch of Technic Heroes' sister franchise TH2, Technic launched a spin-off drink of Technic, T2, marketed as a "Power Drink" with double the amount of caffeine as regular Technic. T2 was heavily cross-promoted with various sports sponsorship, including being the original sponsor of X Games Aritonazca and a shirt sponsor for the El Kadsreian national cricket team and the El Kadsreian Premier League club El Kadsre City F.C., in addition to sponsoring TH2. T2 was also endorsed by boxer and four-time IABP heavyweight title holder Joseph Lugo and cricketer Frank J. Pollock.

In 2002, Technic introduced a second spin-off range, which included products such as Technic Elevate (a caffeine pill) and Technic VeggieMix (a vegetable juice drink with added caffeine).

In 2007, a year after T2 introduced their Power Shot to compete with 5-Hour Energy, Technic released Technic Power Shot. Technic Power Shot has been El Kadsre's third-best selling energy shot behind 5-Hour Energy and T2 Power Shot for several years.
