Chart eligibility[]

Top 100 Albums[]

  • Positions are based on both physical sales and downloads.
  • Digital downloads were incorporated into the charts on 5th January 2004.
  • In order for a recording to be classified as an album, it must have four or more unique tracks.

Top 40 Collaborative Albums[]

  • Same rules as the Top 100 Albums chart.
  • Must be a collaborative album between at least three different musicians, singers and/or groups.
    • Because of this, nearly every album on the chart is labelled as an album by "Various artists".
  • Most compilation albums and soundtracks are also eligible.

Top 100 Singles[]

  • A song must be a single, promotional single or an album track to be eligible for the charts.
  • Songs must be at least 2 minutes long.
    • This rule received notoriety in 2019, as it meant that Lil Nas X's single "Old Town Road" was disqualified from the charts.
  • Positions are based on a combination of sales and airplay figures.
  • Digital downloads were incorporated into the charts on 5th January 2004.
  • Up until 27th December 2010, positions were also partially based on music played at major public premises.

Top 40 Dutch Singles[]

  • Same rules as the Top 100 Singles chart.
  • Songs must be entirely or prominently in the Dutch language.
