Bio[]

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, he and his family were evacuated by Orthodox monks to Chania on Crete in 1941 and then Houston, Texas in the United States later that year due to the Greco-Italian War. His stage name had it's first part anglicized from the first part of his birth name, Damaskinos Louka Giannakopoulos.

He and his family moved to Lancaster, Massachusetts in 1946. He began acting in 1960. He is most notable among cult movie fans for dubbing over Turkish actor Sadri Alışık in the English dubs of the Turist Ömer films, known in the United States as Buck the Tourist. Danny also played "Buck" in meet-and-greets at cinemas prior to showings of these dubs and is a frequent guest or panelist at cult/grindhouse movie conventions.
